The Carpathian Mountains are on Fire

At least it looked like that on the evening in December 2014, when my brother took these photos of the Făgăraș Mountains in Romania.

About Andreas Moser

Travelling the world and writing about it. I have degrees in law and philosophy, but I'd much rather be a journalist, a spy or a hobo.

Beautiful. As nice as photos are they never quite capture the thrill of being there but for your virtual tagalongs they’re great to see.

    • Thank you very much!
The thrill of being there that day came from not expecting it. We (my mother, my brother and me) were just driving towards the Transfagarasan when we saw this spectacle in the sky. Luckily, my brother is a photographer, and as soon as we saw a multi-floor abandoned building, we knew we had to park, run up the stairs and shoot as long as we could. Then we ran from the dogs. I hope my mom wasn’t scared that we let her wait in the car alone between some derelict buildings with wild dogs.
