I am going to write about my walk to that forest in a week or so, but in the meantime I’d like you to guess where it is. If someone gets it right, you will win a prize of my choosing.
UPDATE: The mystery has been solved.

Reblogged this on cftc10.
can i get the second price if i guess where this place is NOT?
You can get the honorary prize for witty comments.
I don’t know where it is, but you certainly are correct about it being beautiful!
Looks beautiful, is it Scotland?
It’s not Scotland. Sadly, I have never even been to Scotland. :-(
Palanga?
No, it’s not Palanga either.
Hint of continent would help :-)
You were on the right continent. Maybe even the right corner of it. ;-)
Somewhere in Poland?
Nope.
Its typical lithuanian pine forest. Such forest grow in sands near the Baltic sea ( in Jurmala in Latvia too), around Druskininkai or to the north- east from Vilnius. Maybe it is near Nida in Curonian Spit?
It’s not in Nida or on the Curonian Spit, although there are very beautiful pine forests indeed. I was there a few weeks ago when everything as still covered by snow.
Gaujas nacionalais parks in Latvia :).
You are getting closer. I was at Gauja National Park in Latvia last week and it was beautiful, but the photo was not taken there.
I could never believe that Estonia has such pines.
I’m guessing what is that construction on the right edge of the photo… .
And if it is not a seaside, it’s too sparse to be a genuine forest, it’s not a forest. Somewhere near your current home, there is plenty of such corners, say from the railway to Neris river, and actually everywhere :) . It’s matter of skills to catch a nice composition, and you already proved many times that you can make a piece of art out of anything :D .
You are the first person to notice the tiny bit of construction which I so carefully tried to hide. But no, it’s not anywhere near my place in Vilnius.
Thanks for the compliment! I am actually happy that nobody is guessing it right. If it continues like that, it will be quite a revelation in a few days.
Sigulda?
It’s not in or around Sigulda either. But I will post photos of my hike from Sigulda to Ligatne soon.
I don’t know where is this forest, but this picturre is now in the background of my phone…
I think this qualifies for the winning answer.
