Today, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, a group of Ukrainian women staged this protest:
Now, that’s a different kind of protest than the ones I have been to (for examples of these see here, here, here and here).
The group FEMEN has become famous in Ukraine where they stage regular protests on various social and political issues. Some more examples:
Well, if it helps to attract more people to join a protest, I welcome it as a positive factor.
A question to my readers in Ukraine: Are all your women so sexy interested in politics?
(Es gibt eine deutsche Version dieses Artikels. Aber Sie sind sowieso nur an den Fotos interessiert, oder?)

I am wondering how do you find them sexy!! They all have boobies as big as a tennis ball!
We men don’t look at a woman’s body.
We care for the mind and the character. Political activism is a big plus, in this respect.
I do both. To me, there is no contradiction in it. ;)
You need new eye glasses.
And the problem with tennis balls is WHAT? All those big to unnaturally busted boobs will be causing calluses on their kneecaps when gravity gets through with their tatas.
Yes, You men!!! And I believe you!
I’m impressed! Protesting in winter, topless? Shoot, I get goosebumps just looking at them!
(No, not THOSE kind! ;) )
And thank you, Maryam, for your comment. Had one of us males made a comment about the .. um … physical attributes of the ladies, I fear we would have been soundly taken to task for being sexist! :D
I like your posts!
Not, no all the girls are so interested in politics…
Russian gal’s protest in the similar way ; ) ..
love this!

Well, Mr. Hermit, there is a deep meaning statement that breast symbolizes. And yes, it is not only about attraction and sexuality as it is about extension of birth life and connection to our true nature and its basic rules.
(According to people’s driving motives -let it be pain and pleasure- womankind can serve them both.)
Well, well, nice curves, but also vocal chords and yes – CARS !!

Three cheers to these women who literally “chilled out” at Davos ;-))
Something tells me it didn’t have quite the impact they were hoping for.
It would have an impact if these girls were to protest at MY place.
These girls are actually part of an Eastern European tradition. The Russian religious sect, the Doukhobors, were well known for their propensity to strip naked to protest unjust government policies. A group of them held many such protest in Canada’s Prairie provinces in the first half of the last century. The only difference was that bot sexes participated in the nude protests. So how about it boys!
Ehhmm, I am already busy taking photos. Somebody has to be the journalist.
Also, it’s a bit unfair because cold weather has a negative effect on the male anatomy. We kind of shrink and shrivel, whereas women seem to be less affected by the cold.
Way to go girls! Them boys must have been hiding something!
right…. im moving to Ukraina
My thought exactly.
I think Maryam is jealous ;) Ukrainian lady’s are proud, brave and ofcourse very sexi !
But Maryam is very sexy as well. I can vouch for that.
oh, this is sth very interesting. hope i’m lucky enough to see it when i’m in europe later, lol.
Hollie, the human rights expert, should join this protest: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/human-rights-with-hollie/
Famous protesting group? Sounds like a bunch of attention whores to me.
They certainly caught MY attention. I wish I could do something to provoke their protest against me.
afraid next time that the protest is hard & they get naked from down

I have to vote in the protestors favor. Not because I would do it. Not because I necessarily think it will work. I’m simply tired of the way everyone seems so darn concerned with judging others. Who cares? Their breasts are bigger than mine? Great, good for them. They’re prettier? Fabulous. I’m not working out my “issues” on some complete stranger. Here’s to a world in which we have the luxury and freedom to argue about whether we simply agree with the form of protest–I’d say that’s call for a celebration.
I don’t see it here, Isabella, but may I steal your comment of “blekh”? It sounds the perfect description of the weather here – over 100 degrees and high humidity. At least we’ve kept the electricity on in our house – most of the area is only just now getting power back on, after almost a week without! Definitely “blekh”!!
Yeah, what’s up with that? (it also contained a very important grammatical revision :p) I don’t know where it disappeared to but you are most welcome to it. Everyone seems to be having heat waves. We just got the first forecast of a full week of sun this year! Woot!
Ukrainian girls are sooooo pretty. And right.
Lucky me that I am going to Ukraine in August. :-)
I poured out my blessing on them….now I must clean it up.
